Welcome to the toolkit

This toolkit will help housing providers create better links with their communities, increase awareness of their customers and improve their services to vulnerable groups. It’s broken into six sections, providing the information and tools you’ll need to host a refugee volunteer.

About the toolkit

The content of the toolkit is based on the experiences of 23 housing providers who took part in HACT’s Reach In project, a three year-long initiative that helped over 35% of the refugee volunteers who took part to find a job. Tellingly, six were employed by their host organisation, demonstrating the benefits for both the individual, and the housing provider.
